Ok -- ive seen so much on tipping but when i look at the above referenced article -- theres a few things that make me
It says photo/video are optional??
It says no one person should received more than $150
So does that include the Maitre D?? Most halls recommend a dollar amount per person - which would certainly be over $150???

i gave everyone either $50 or $75 but matre d i gave about $300..cause all the CLM girls know how wonderful nick is

No, it doesn't include the maitre'd. They say photo/video is optional if they own the company. Both our photographer and videographer own the company and we will tip them. The whole $150 thing is if you're doing it based on a percentage some percentages can be $500. This is the example given in the article:
For example: Let’s say your limo bus is $2000.00. 10 or 15% of that total is 200 or 300 dollars, not necessary.

I don't agree with some of these. We aren't planning to tip the coat check, valets or bartenders at the reception because our guests will be tipping them also. All weddings I've ever been to I have tipped these people myself. We're just sticking with the main players... maitre'd, wait staff, DJ, limo drivers, florist delivery person and photographer/videographer.
