FH and I started going over this last night. This is our rough draft. I think we're a little low on some.
Lookin' for some opinions
Have we forgotten anyone??
MD: $1,000 (6 per guest) - we also added 3 extra wait staff Limo: $200 - 2 Stretch and 1 rolls so 3 drivers Photo: $150 - 2 photographers, 1 videographer DJ: $100 - DJ, MC and Sax during dinner (MC is company owner) Delivery: Flowers: $40 (2 ppl) Cake: $10 Tent Set up: $40 (2 ppl) Officiant: ??? DOC ??? Photobooth ??? (didn't get that far)
Do I need a separate tip for the Bridal Attendant or does she get something out of the MD tip?
TIA

Re: Tips... is this good
In your case I would totally cut the cost in half.
I'm having such a tough time with this. I'm having 200 pol at my wedding, there is no way I'm giving the maitre'd a minimum of 600 bucks. Why can't 200 be acceptable? 600+ is sooo much money.

They say that, but it never happens...I worked in catering for 3 years and never saw a DIME from the included 'gratuity' or the MD tip....
Also, I agree that $3-4 pp is tooooo much....again, having worked in catering, the MD doesn't do NEARLY as much as the waitstaff, no matter what they tell you, sooo I don't think they deserve $1000 cash off the books for a roughly 5 hour party.....thats an extra $200/hr when you break it down

Or is it the banquet manager....The website someone suggested in an earlier post - recommends - breaking it down a head of time in separate envelopes- for wait staff, kitchen staff etc and will save you money in the long run...
Most RH's just include the '17-20% Service Fee'...which isn't actually a gratuity (which is why they can charge NYS sales tax on it) and which is how a lot of them get away with not dividing it between the staff

Hmmmm
when I spoke to the BM at the Riviera she said that the MD gives to the wait staff from his tip that's why I decided to tip a little more because we have more wait staff then they usually have and I didn't want anyone to get stiffed.
I have to call them again to be sure.
Thank you for all your help.

That may very well be the case for your RH and I applaud them....alot of RH's don't take care of their staff that way and it causes higher turnover and decreased quality of service. After working in the catering field through HS, this is a HUGE pet-peeve of mine and I refused to even give my business to the places I had worked because I knew how they treated their employees

OH I totally believe you. This is the reason FH and I are usually big tippers. Companies mess with their employees in the service industry all the time and we feel like a Job well done should be rewarded. I know too many waiters, waitresses, bartenders, cab drivers, etc. to not be aware. I just chose to believe what the BM told me. Maybe I shouldn't.
I have a friend who works at a catering hall. I'm going to ask her what she did for her wedding. Maybe she broke it down into multiple envelopes??... I'm going to ask her.
