Tips on caring for my newly-spayed pup :(

I just brought her home and she is moping around, of course. Shockingly, she ran towards me and was going nuts when she saw me at the vet. Now she is falling asleep..in fact, she literally fell over a few minutes ago :(

When she moves certain ways, she lets out little moans.....did that happen with your puppies too?

Any tips? Advice? As always, it's very much appreciated!

I have had both my dogs spayed and neutered and have seen countless dogs at the animal shelter where I volunteer fixed as well.

Keep in mind that they did just have relatively major surgery. The surgery for the females is much more invasive than the males. She was under anesthesia so will definitely be groggy. Again, it is pretty major surgery, so she will definitely be sore. Just try and make her as comfy as possible and not to get her too excited because that will definitely make her sore and possibly rip her stitches.

Just give her a couple of days to get back on her feet and she will be fine. As long as her incision is not red on the outside or oozy in a couple of days (infection) she will be just fine.

Good luck

My kitty was like a very very drunk person when I brought her home. But she wasnt moaning or anything. She was tipping over and her eyes were very dilated. It was actually pretty funny. But she was okay within an hour. Doggy will be fine! Dont worry!
