Hi. Don't have time to search this - I know it's there.
Gratuity for florist. They are delivering my personals into the city. I give the gratuity then for the whole job. WHAT DO I GIVE? Is there an average for this? A certain %? Please tell me it's not 20% of the whole job.....

Re: tiptiptiptiptiptiptip
I gave 10% of my total bill to split between the designer and delivery people.

Re: tiptiptiptiptiptiptip
sorry for replying to my own question.
My florist total is around $6000 - $600 tip sounds right?!?! It's so HIGH! I won't even have seen the flowers when I hand in that tip? But the delivery men will bring it back to the florist as they are setting up my job?! I love my florist and know that she wants to do a great job-but shouldn't we SEE the job before filling an envelope w. cash?

Re: jenny
they say to tip for the people that are setting up and the designers - seems like 10% is what people suggest?

Re: jenny
I tipped them when they delievered my bouquets early in the day. If I had seen some of the stuff they did at the reception, I would have tipped a lot less.

Re: jenny
Jen: there isnt much you can do about it. I tipped early because I wanted to make sure things were set up properly. Remember, the same people who deliver your flowers will be setting things up at the reception. Unfortunetely, it wasnt poor setting up that was my problem - it was poor design before they left the shop. Overall, I was satsified with the major things so Im not too annoyed over it.

Re: tiptiptiptiptiptiptip
I've only heard about tipping the delivery person - like $20. I think if a florist adds a service/delivery charge in addition to your flower charge, I think that's enough.
Edited to add that The Knot had an article on tipping which may be helpful. The suggested amounts may need to be adjusted to NY rates though.
