I am so tired of going to showers..I have one tomorrow that DH RSVP'ed me for when he saw the soon to be dad..I just wanted to send a card..I hate going when I only know a few people there, and I feel like they grabbed me out of the woodwork..If I had known back during my shower days that it is not uncommon to invite people you barely knew, my party would have been much different..I feel like they are fundraisers at this point. I have a friend who I am so tired of celebrating for, I know it sounds bad..but in 4 yrs..engagement party, wedding shower, bachalorette party, wedding, housewarming, and baby shower..I am sure the christening is soon to follow. I am so not into inconviencing people..if it was my sister or cousin it would be different. but do you feel like you are just being pulled from the woodwork to get more things off of someone's registry? Then if I RSVP no and don't give a gift, is that saying I don't want to be your friend anymore:? Thanks, sorry so long

Oh Lordie....I have 9 baby showers within the next 7 months to attend! Only 1 bridal shower though.

i have 10 weddings to go to be we are only going to attend 8.
ive been to 2 bridal showers so far. I have one this week and another next week.

That's A LOT and I don't think you should feel bad. IMO, if you had a wedding and shower I don't get why you'd have a housewarming party. DH and I will probably invite people over when we move into our house but calling something a housewarming seems to be asking for gifts. After a wedding and shower and e-party, how much more stuff do you need?
