The ones I am thinking about getting don't come with tissue either. I love those! Where are they from?

Re: Tissue Paper necessary in invite?
mine doesn't either- it's really not necessary..the whole reason why they used that was to prevent the ink from smearing- but that is no longer an issue ..

Ahh, mine did come with them and I didn't know what the heck to do with it. I'm so wedding challenged, thanks for clearing that up!

Nah - they are beautiful invites. What the heck is the paper for anyway?

Re: Tissue Paper necessary in invite?
A friend of mine bought us the Crane's guide to invitations when we got engaged. It actually talks about how the purpose of the tissue paper is to prevent the engraved ink from blotting onto other surfaces. ALSO, it says to REMOVE the tissue paper when you assemble the invites. By then the ink will be well dry & it's not needed. It says they're not even needed for themograph printing.
My invites come with it as a 'ink blotter' but I'm removing it afterwards. If it's an extra cost I doubt anyone will notice if it's not there. Hope that helps!

Re: Tissue Paper necessary in invite?
Mine came with the tissue. I assembled them all with the tissue for the invite, tissue for the reception care, and tissue over the RSVP card.
I got several compliments on the tissue!
(and, I got a couple RSVP backs with the tissue!)

Re: Tissue Paper necessary in invite?
Thanks for the tissue advice. FH thinks it is silly and I tend to agree with this invite only b/c the top layer is velum - maybe overkill with tissue. Anyway, the invite is style #D9044 from Simply Encore. I ordered through invitationsbykarina but have not received them yet so can't comment on service. Price was good. Thanks for the compliments! There are so many pretty ones out there that I had a hard time choosing.

I think it's funny that people include the tissue, it was never meant to be included. I was planning on removing it if it comes with my invites but now I'm wondering if people will notice and miss it since everyone is so used to it!!!

Only because several people actually told me that the tissue really made my invites look very 'black tie', I say go with it.
