My FI was thinking about getting one to be his wedding band-does anyone know if this metal is good or bad? Thanks!

Re: Titanium Bands
It is good. It is a sturdy metal, does not ding. But I was told that it cannot be resized so that $ucks

Re: Titanium Bands
My FH looked at one, we were told by the jeweler that it is lightweight and like one of the hardest metals on earth. Yet for some reason, I didn't like the look of it.

Re: Titanium Bands
I wore titanium earrings for a while when my allergies were very bad and my ears were sensitive. People don't tend to react as much to titanium.
Someone one here posted that if you have a titanium ring, and have any sort of accident or hand injury, they will not be able to cut the ring off--which could be a problem.

Actually, I do not thing that is true. I was told that it cannot be resized but if god forbid, there is an accident or something, they will be able to cut it off. It is a strong metal but I guarantee that in the hospital, they would be able to cut it. I asked my jeweler the same exact question.

Re: Titanium Bands
my FH wanted a titanium w-band originally. But when he started to look at them, he changed his mind for whatever reason and decided on gold.
They say titanium doesn't scratch, but we saw one that was 2nd hand that was ALL scratched up.

Re: Titanium Bands
My DH has a titanium wedding band..a TITANIUM CARBIDE by Tungsten...it does NOT scratch. Our jeweler took a file to it(the kind to file down metal and screws) not a scratch! DH was sold! Not only because he works with his hands and knew any other ring would be scratched-up in a weeks time, but also because he likes to be 'different'.
Yeah its a look you either love/hate. He loves it so much that he bought a titanium watch when we were on our honeymoon..wears it everyday-no scratches and I gotta say, looks really nice together. He really, really researched it before we bought it..true it cannot be resized (either can a diamond eternity band) but we bought it from a company that offers a 'one time, lifetime free resizing' and also we were assured that hospitals are equipped with some sort of mini-jaws of life,to cut that baby off if needed!

Thank you everyone for your thoughts... I also was told how great titanium was.... no one said a thing about how it scratches!
