Titanium Rings?

Titanium Rings?

so, FH is an car technician.
He is already telling me he doesn't want to wear his wedding band every day b/c he will ruin it.

I've heard of Titanium...is this an option for those men who work in hands on fields, like constructions workers, etc? Can it be easily bent/destroyed?

Has anyone actually purchased a Titanium ring?

Thanks!

i actually heard the opposite. We didnt get it because it cant be taken off as easily as gold. The jeweler advised us against it.

dh is a firefighter and we got him a tungsten ring... as far as denting, scratching, etc. it's great but the pp is right - they cannot be cut off as easily so he doesn't wear his while he's working!

Titanium is realllyyyy strong, it cant be bent easily its almost impossible to resize and worse verryyy hard to cut in case of emergency.

we decided against tungsten bands since my BIL had gotten one and his cracked and fell apart on his honeymoon. it was replaced with a new one, and it cracked again.
don't want to have that happen to FH, so i was thinking of Titanium.
I don't have to worry about it being cut off in case of emergency like some of you gals, so this might be an option for us.

Thanks!

However it scratches VERY easily! Its strong so it wont break but it will get very scratched up ... some food for thought!

DH has one...he works with his hands and I got him the ring for that better reason. It will not bend...if your FH ever needed to get it resized he would have to get an entire new ring because they cant do it. Titanium even protects them...if their hand got crushed the ring would save their finger because it wont bend.

Just saw this post and the one about a ring falling apart....I have never seen or heard of that... DH is pretty rough with his, he has dropped it so many times on the concrete and on our granite counters and nothing....I have never seen a scratch or anything. We go kayaking a lot and the metal paddles are constantly grinding into his ring and nothing!
There are a lot of bad dealers out there so just make sure you get it from a reputable store. I had ordered DHs ring online and when I got it it felt so light that I sent it back and I went to Jared's....titanium rings are really heavy so maybe they had a similar situation like I originally had with the one I ordered online. Im telling you the one from Jared's and the one I ordered online were like night and day...my ring was heavy than the one I ordered online....so just be cautious!

We just bought FH a Tungsten ring. He loves it & wants to wear it now, LOL. They are extremely durable and I know a few guys who have them/work with them and love them. And it was only $100!

FH considered titanium but our jeweler advised against it because he says if anything ever happens or an emergency and they need to get his ring off, they won't be able to cut it off. Once he said that, I got the thought in my mind that it wouldn't slide off or cut off so what are they going to do? cut his finger off?! We went with platinum.

are you sure you're not confusing titanium with tungston? Titanium is incredibly lightweight. It is supposed to be. It is what fake legs and other appendages are made of so they can't weigh to much or the person wouldn't be able to move it. It would also never shatter if it were dropped.

Tungston on the other hand is very heavy. It is incredibly durable does not scratch and could shatter if dropped.

Thats is what we heard. If he is wearing titanium and something happens it is near impossible to cutoff. We got him white gold with tungsten carbide. We had them research to be sure if something were to happen we can cut it off if need be. I wouldn't go with the titanium for fear of something going wrong. tungsten carbide does not scratch very easily.
