there was a post on this a while ago and my DH (then FH) responded with his 'expertise' on tivo (he LOVES his tivo!)

My SIL gave us one for our wedding and we're having some problems with it only because we don't have a land line. You do need a land line for it to work. It records EVERYTHING it thinks you may like. I have 4 hours of country music videos on the TIVO (I hate country music) but we also have some good programs there too.

FH can't WAIT to get one... our friends in VA have it and they LOVE it!!! i hate setting the vcr to tape stuff. i always forget!

we have Replay TV (just like TIVO) and its pretty darn cooL! don't know how i ever watched TV without it!

TIVO RULES
although I dont have one ( I dont have much of anything in fact) but I know some people with TIVO and it rules. there isnt a monthly fee unless you dont pay for the system. all you have to do is buy the box one time and hook it up and badda bing you got saved programs. I think you can also save programs to your computer ( I think its an extra componet that isnt too expensive that is available thorugh TIVO) also you can connect your computer to it and watch dvds or movies from your computer to your tv ( but you dont need tivo for that )
