TMI question, probably for toddler moms

TMI question, probably for toddler moms

It's about poops.

Luke has always been pretty regular, 2 a day maybe. All of a sudden a few days ago he had diarrhea for a day or so, got a really red tush. The diarrhea went away but now he's still be pooping on average 4 or 5 times a day. He's like a little poop machine. His diet hasn't changed. Does it sound like anything to be concerned about?

As the Mommies to be will find out, it's all about the poops.

You are right, it IS all about the poops.

I can't explain why his system is clearing itself out 4-5 times a day. If it were me I would call his ped. just to see if he can explain this. It seems like a lot for such a little body.

Hope all is well!!

It doesnt seem alot to me. Does he have milk often?
JOhn Anthony still loves his milk, and has it at least 2 times a day, sometimes up to 4 or 5, depending on how much he eats and with each bottle comes a poopy diaper without fail. So I can have 2-4 or 5 poopy diapers in a day (Not every day though)

Yep, its all about the poops

totally agree it is all about the poops, however not unusual to go 4-5 tims a day

Since his diet hasn't changed, when he had diarrhea, did he take any medicine? That could still be flushing out his system. I wouldn't give it too much concern. It is better it comes out then stay in right

MUCH better out ..than IN..
Take it from a mommy whose little girl suffers bouts of constipation.

Lately tho..she has skipped her 2 or 3x a day and saves it for ONE BIG HUGE MESS!!

Last 3 nights I had to give her a bath in order to clean her up sufficiently! ( I usually only bathe her 1-2x a week w/ her sensitive skin)

Ryan's not a toddler yet, but even so he has 4 -5 poops a day...once he got past the constipation when he was tiny, it's been that way all along...I agree better out than in!!

Also, here's something weird - the exersaucer is a guaranteed poop maker!! We now refer to it as the 'poopasaucer'...I swear he goes in and within minutes - we have poop..wacky!

Anyway, I agree it's all about the poop!!

the only reason I thought it would be something to ask a doc about is has the 4-5 times a day just come on suddenly or has he been a 4-5 time a day pooper for a while? If you havent changed his diet why the sudden change in poppiness?

I have to agree with Karen on this one....I think if Lukie is normally a 1-2 times a day pooper, 4-5 times DOES sound like something's up. And, if it's diarrhea, than it sounds like he may have a stomach bug OR could be teething again....sometimes teething can cause diarrhea.

Is my son the ONLY child on LIW that only has a BM once a day? He has gone 2x a day on occasion, but that's a rarity!

I was thinking along the same lines as you too Karen.

Claud, no it was diarrhea for 1 or 2 days, now it's endless poop....

I'm going to call tomorrow, I'm quite sure they've heard stranger questions. LOL

Nope, Claud. Emma is a one a day or every other day kinda kid. Pauls not the only one.
