TMI Warning - BCP & AF timing question

Okay here's the thing.... AF is due the week before the wedding. Sucks for me, yes. I'm not sure how I want to handle it though.

I can delay it with the pill til AFTER the wedding. But I've never done that before... what if it doesn't 'work' right?

Or I can make it start a little earlier so that I way I don't have to worry about it at all on the HM but then I still have to deal with having it the week of the wedding....

What is the safer bet? I don't want to be all PMS-y the week of the wedding...

Call your gyn. Sometimes if you try to skip it, you still get PMS and breakthrough. You need to plan in advance.

My friend did this for her wedding- although she did it MONTHS before the wedding to change her cycle- with your wedding so close, I do not recommend changing your hormonal balance.. She said she had a hard time and was very 'estrogen-y' for a while..

If you are due the week before- it will be gone for the wedding- and not PMSing on the honeymoon. I think you should stick with what you got.

I'd skip two months...that's what I did, I could have avoided it on the wedding or during the HM...I chose to start the skipping a month earlier and got AF when we got home from HM....I was a Little PMS-y before the wedding cuz that was the way the pills were but skipping has worked every time I've tried it except once, when I tried to skip for surgery, but got it anyway because my body went through a 'trauma' the nurse said

Thanks girls... I think I will stick with I got and deal with it before rather than having to worry about it during and playing with hormones.

Definitely call the Dr. In March I was going to Jamaica so my Dr. told me which pills to skip so I got it a week early and didn't have to worry about it. Do it soon though so you will give yourself plenty of time to adjust.

I did this but my gyno wanted me to do it months in advance. You are all screwed up for a while and she said that during the month of the pack I started early, there was a chance of getting preggo. I am getting my period the week before the wedding too and we did it this way so I wouldn't get it on my honeymoon.

Talk to gyno -- easy to fix. I did it when we have gone on vacations to remote places where AF would be a PITA.
