I'm finally going for my first makeup trial this evening and as of now, I'm only getting the makeup done with no airbrush. Is it worth it to get the airbrush done?? She said I could always let her know once I get there if I change my mind. What is the difference?

I would try both out. I hear airbrush is very heavy feeling and if youre prone to breaking out it can be a problem the next few days

Re: To airbrush or not to airbrush...
the difference is the foundation only, its airbrushed, the rest of the make up such as eyeshadow is regular make up. But the airbrush feels light on your face, lasts all day long, i didnt have to touch it up at all the day of, stayed on perfectly. I also broke out BAD the day before my wedding and needed it to stay plus it covered it up completely and you couldnt tell i broke out.
Ive had my make up professionally done quite a few times with both regular and airbrush. I prefer the airbrush personally. Can you ask your make up artist to try both on you when you go for the trial to see what you like better. ALSO ask her how often she does airbrush, it has to be done well and ppl think just bc a make up artist is doing it means shes very experienced with it but doesnt mean that. Some use the wrong foundation, it has to be water based only, some even do the settings wrong and can come out wrong. If its done right, you wont feel it at all and will last all day

Not everyone is a candidate for airbrushing. A lot of salons and make-up artists like to push for airbrushing because they know they can charge more for it. So you should see if you are a good candidate for it. If you have good skin and no marks or scars on it then airbrush might work very well for you. But certain skin types and especially if you have any sort of acne scars or other scars then airbrushing might not be the best for you. It all depends. You can decide when you talk to her about it in person. Be careful though... not everyone needs airbrushing... it's pushed on a lot of brides. I might do it ... not sure yet... still considering. The only difference is the foundation and the way it's applied. Airbrushing is lighter on your skin and lasts all day.. but that's not to say if you do it regular that it won't last all day either... and that too can look perfectly natural. It's more important to get a great make-up artist who isn't just looking for a way to charge you more.

I am doing airbrush and I love it! It feels really light and it lasts 24 hours.

really? i broke out real real bad, and infact 3 of them were insanely big, and had other ones too and i had a big scar on my chin from ripping one off out of frustration. I did airbrush and it was COMPLETLEY covered, i have some before and after pics, ill post later since i have to run downstairs to meet with dh. But it was a drastic difference. For epics i did regular make up and had just 1 pimple but still showed no matter how much make up was put over it
i dont know but seems like theres alot of misunderstandings about airbrush, usually ppl saying they heard and stuff but i think until you do it for yourself and see you cant know. I heard so much too but went with it and for my skin worked great. Some skin types regular is better though

I had a trial with both and liked the traditional better. But I have to say try out both if you can, everyone is different....kind of skin, how the makeup holds up, dry/oily skin.

Re: To airbrush or not to airbrush...
Yea.. i do make-up on lots of people (I'm not certified or anything, I do it more for fun... and there are some people who come to me to get their make-up done when they are going out or to a wedding... I've even done bridal make-up for the bride and MOB and MOH and some BM's).. and I have some friends who work for MAC. I never did airbrushing... and i don't know how to do it... but I spoke with some make-up artists who do use it and that's what they told me about airbrushing. Don't get me wrong.. I tend to hear lots of wonderful things about it when people do it... but there are some people who dont' really need it - and some salons charge insane amounts for it! I'm probably going to give it a whirl at the trial to see if I like it. Ha ha.. is it rude of me to go to my trial with make-up on? I want to bring cold cream so I can wipe it off.. but I want to show her what I want done and then have her repeat it. I like a lot of makeup on my eyes.. but I don't want to look like a clown or a drag queen... and it's different to bring a picture... I figure she knows I do make-up so she might understand. I'm scared to let someone else do my make-up; I usually hate when other people do it bc they do it different fm me... but I can't be bothered with that on the day of. some of my BM were upset that i wasn't going to be doing their make-up for it! Ha ha ha! Imagine that? the bride running around doing everyone's make-up! I'd die from the stress!

When my girlfriend got married she tried both and airbrush came out the winner. She loved it and it stayed on her the whole night. (no touch ups needed)

Re: To airbrush or not to airbrush...
I've had both airbrush and traditional makeup trials and applications in the past. It's really a catch 22. Traditional the coverage isn't as great, and airbrush really smooths out the overall look of your skin with proper cover up applied prior...but you break out like WHOA after I found. I'm really prone to break outs anyways, and I found after my trial last friday I got really really bad, a little more than my normal breakouts. I also didn't see much of a difference between the airbrush coverage to my own regimen of concealer, liquid foundation, and bare minerals powder. But if traditional isn't done right, it's barely any coverage at all.
I would get the airbrush done just do see if you like it and if its right for you...some makeup artists will even redo the trial for free if you really don't like it. You'll never know unless you try, so may as well take advantage of it.

Re: To airbrush or not to airbrush...
So I changed my trial for tomorrow morning instead bc my sister made a good point. She said I should see how it lasts on me all day long from morning to night. So, I told the salon I want to try the airbrush for tomorrow. I'll try to post pics tomorrow. I never wear any foundation or anything on my face except a little blush so since some of you ladies are saying te airbrush is not as heavy I'm curious. I'll also have a trial another time just makeup no airbrush. Thanks for the advice.
