To airbrush or not to airbrush... That is the question??

LOL! I was wondering if anyone had any opinions about wedding day makeup. I am not sure whether airbursh is a good idea or not? I am getting married in July so I am not sure if it would melt. Also does anyone know if it feels heavy or greasy? I have combination skin and I want my skin to look good without looking like it has heavy makeup on it.
Please share thoughts, opinions and experiences.

Thanks!!

i hat foundation!!! it gets me hot. i just had a trial where airbrush was done and i loved it!!! it was so light. i get red when i sweat, embarassed etc...
i was sweating after i got it done, and i didnt get red at all, but i felt i was shiny slightly. no one said that i looked shiny, everyone liked the aIRbrush.

jmo... if you want to compare...look in my album, oksana's trial was traditional makeup, and sultry was airbrush. it is in my makeup trials album.

I just had my make up done on Friday for a wedding I was in, and I got airbrush on my face and regular makeup on my eyes. It came out looking great, very natural, and stayed perfect all day, despite it being like 100 degrees and super humid.

i loved airbrushing....my wedding was all outdoors in June & it held up great...very lite...and made my skin look flawless...it also had SPF in it which kept my face from getting fried (my shoulders did during pics on the beach) pics in albums....HTH!

I absolutely LOVED it. I can't really wear normal (liquid) foundation...I feel like I am melting with it on. The airbrush was wonderful...light, and my face looked flawless for the 14 hrs it was one. HIGHLY recommend it.

I did a trial last week and the airburshing was great but, my eyeshadow didnt stay on. Im doing another one today by a friend of mine and we are going to use regular foundation. So we will see which works best for me.
I did love the airbrushing, it was nice and light but, I was shiny after awhile.

For foundation, I would very very very much recommend airbrush. It was just perfect on my face.

I've heard people complain about it. But I honestly don't understand why they would think its heavy and messy.

I think it really depends.... on a lot of factors. You will have to try it on and see what it does for your skin. You will have to do both and compare.

I have seen airbrush that looks good and some that doesn't. The same for my face- some trial places it looked good and some looked terrible.

For my skin, regular looked much better, it melded with my skin so I felt it wasn't even on. My MU artist was able to contour my face which isn't done with airbrush. You also have to see what kind of foundation your mu artist uses. It can't just be anything, it must be true professional makeup. Its a big difference from dept store brands.

Airbrush can look great but I have seen it on some trials that makes their pores appear larger and accentuate fine lines etc- personally I don't like that, again it could be the foundation that the mu artist uses.

I say try out both, and see what works best for you and your skin- it truly is a personal experiment cause everybody responds differently to different products.

i've had both done and loved the airbrush. It was so light and didnt even feel like i had make up on my face, plus it lasted very long.

When i had my trial for the airbrush it was in june of last year on an extremely hot day, i had to take trains home and you know how hot it is on nyc trains. Even walked alot and again had no problems.

For me with regular make up i feel very hot so it was the opposite.

With airbrush it WONT melt if they use water based foundation for it. If they use silicone based then it can be a problem but if you go to a good make up artist then she should NOT be using silicone based for a wedding. Silicone based is mostly used for photo shoots, bc it has a more intense shiny color so its used for that effect. But for something that should be a bit more natural and last all day then you would never use the silicone. Ask the make up artist if they are using water based or silicone based. I would say that just about any you go to will use the water based but there are some make up artists out there who use airbrush and not that great with it so you never know.

Also depends on your skin tone, i have dry skin so with regular make up it gives me a cakey look and if i had any imperfections i feel it is so visible, plus anyone talking to me close up when i have professional regular make up looks like i have pounds of make up on.

On my wedding day the airbrush was perfect, it felt very light, i didnt get hot and lasted all night. I also feel that with me when i have regular i have to touch it up if i wear it all day...i had make up on me day of wedding in case it got messed up a little bit and never had to use it. Even the next morning when i woke up it was perfectly on. Also i broke out right before my wedding and was so upset, the airbrush covered up perfectly you couldnt even see that i had anything at all

I think you look beautiful in both, but I LOVE the sultry cosmetics on you. I might have to try airbrush as well!

I have had both for different weddings that I've been in and chose airbrushing for my own (Maureen Pedala). I was soooooo happy that I did! I got married in July, too, and it did not melt at all. In fact, I barely needed to blot my face well into the reception. I recommend it!

I totally disagree. I had airbrush trials done twice and they were terrible. They made my skin oily beyond belief. I could literally see every PORE in my face. I thought maybe I was just having a bad skin day, so tried again and got the same effect. I am so going old school foundation.

Honestly thought, try it and see how it is on YOU. It could be different for you.

I wonder sometimes if its the quality of the product or the expertise of who is applying it...

Its not just a slap and go kind of product it takes some skill and experience to apply right.
