To all of you who have helped me...
I really would like to thank you. Many of you offered advice on Mom's and BM's gowns through the past months, and have taken the time to FM me as well.
My daughter is about to order her BM's gowns from 'Here Comes the Bridemaid' in Great Neck. They turned out to be the best place as far as Lazaro gowns are concerned, between $60 and $100 cheaper than most other places. Irene, the salesgirl, is a doll to work with and extremely helpful. Within three days we had large swatches mailed to us to show everyone involved. They don't do alterations, but we have two girls from out of state and three girls whose Moms will alter theirs.
I ended up going to many salons you recommended for myself and most were great places. I ordered my Mom gown from The Elegant Bride on Willis Ave. though. They had a great selection (I couldn't decide between two!), very patient and sincere salespeople, and reasonable prices. I felt no pressure whatsoever and went three times before deciding. I chose a strapless Jovani and the seamstress spent a lot of time showing me how she could make up the shawl into a bolero jacket or cap sleeves. She understood my needs and didn't try to convince me what a 'beautiful and young mom' I am and that I don't have anything to worry about. Nothing is as annoying as hearing sales talk when what you want is someone to understand your needs. One saleswoman in another store even said that after two glasses of wine I won't care about how I look! (Maybe... but how do we fool the camera???)
Lastly, I would like to highly recommend Gail at 'Simply Elegant' for Save the dates, invitations, and favors. A bride from here recommended her to me and we couldn't be happier with her knowledge, patience, AND prices! She blew away everyone else on the price of our bottle stoppers and most of her invitations are 30% off. Everything arrived in a week. She is a vendor here.
I hope in some small way I have helped others as you have helped me. Thank you all again.
