To be in the BP, or not to be?

To be in the BP, or not to be?

Okay. So my FH and his parents, and brother hate the his sister's husband. Because of him she has become very distant from the family. She has not even called to congratulate us on our engagement. When we started choosing people for the bridal party, both my b rother and his brother are going to be groomsmen. We decided that we wouldn't ask his sister to be a BM, for the reasons mentioned above, and also because of the fact she lives in Buffalo. However, I thought we had decided her 4 year old daughter would be our flower girl, especially because her cousin (FH's nephew) would be the RB. Now FH says he doesn't want her in the wedding either, because he doesn't want to call his sister. I don't think its right to have both his brother and his nephew in the BP, and not at least his niece. What do you all think? I told him I would write her a letter if he doesn't want to call her.

I think you should have the flower girl.

Since my brothers and sisters are so much older than me, I chose their children instead of them and made sure I hit everyone's family so as not to offend anyone.

Even though he doesn't really speak to his sister and he thinks his brother in law is an arss...he should show his love for his neice just the same.

I say have her. It'll be cute.

IMO...I would at least extend an invitation for her to be flowergirl. That fact that her father is an a55 and her mother has lost touch with her family has nothing to do with her. I think the letter or a call from you might be a good idea if FH doesn't want to do it. Good Luck.

I agree to at least extend the invitation. She is an innocent child and hasn't done anything wrong. I understand that yout FH is upset with her parents but that does not involve her. Whatever you decide, good luck. I know it must not be an easy situation.

I agree with her being a flowe girl....its a hrad decision, but i think if he doesnt extend any invitation for either his sister or his niece...he might regret it down the line

I think you'll be fulfilling your duty by just asking. Start thinking of a backup FG just in case...but I hope she see's how nice it is that you asked!
