To BUNDLE ME or not to BUNDLE ME--that is the question? :)
Hi Mommies,
It is me again. I am in a serious dilemma (ha ha, I wish all my problems were this complicated).
Anyway, our baby is due July 2nd. I have been hearing conflicting reports on whether to get the bundle me or not. I guess I can only use it in the infant car seat, right? But it starts to get cold Sept, october. So it might be useful??
Can any of you BTDT mommies, please help me figure out if it is worth getting or can I just use a warm blanket?
Thanks, Denise _________________

Lots of folks use them in the stroller as well.
I don't have one, so I have no more wisdom to offer. hehe. I purchased a snuzzler for my baby, since she'll be coming in Spring.

I had one on the car seat when we went to the State Troopers to have them make sure the car seat was installed right, and they said not to use it. They said a warm blanket is better, you aren't even supposed to use a heavy jacket in the car seat, somehow it makes the straps less effective? I don't really understand why, but they were pretty adamant we remove the bundle me.

They say it compromises the safety of the seat because the baby isnt right up against the seat. I just live by the 2 finger tightness rule with car seats. To me the BM is just like a coat or jacket behind the baby.

I used a bundle me and loved it. But I would hold off until the Fall and see if you will get any use out of it. Some babies outgrown their infant car seats faster than others.
I have read the safety reports but Molly was always belted in tightly with NO wiggle room so I can't see that being an issue.

Why yes, I do have it and I LOVE IT!!! IMO its safer than any jacket or bunting you would put them in. Its IN the seat and provides the same amount of 'back padding' as a jacket would BUT it does strap directly to the child in the front (I hope that made sense).
They do make another one that goes over the carrier and not behind the baby... that seemed great BUT I met a mother in BRU who said she has used both and the Bundle Me is MUCH warmer than the other one.

Hmm. Maybe I will just register for it and see if I even get it. Then if I do, I won't open it to need be.
What do you think--good idea??
But now I am still worried about it being a safety hazard..

I have the bundle me and I LOVE it, since she was born in December it really helped thru the winter not to have to bundle her in a snowsuit. I think it is a personal decision, but I always tighen the straps when I put her in so she is secure

u can always return it if u dont use it.
If it was really a major safety concern they wouldnt be on the market would they?

Okay... this post made me feel like a very bad mommy to be! What is a bundle me and a snuzzler? I am due 3 days after you and I have no idea what these things are!

Please don't feel like a bad mommy! :)
I had no freaking idea what a snuzzler was till I went to BRU online and did a search. Personally, the bundle me looks more cosy..
Now that you know what a bundle me is, will you get one??

The Snuzzler just goes under them for extra padding/support. I'm getting one for the stroller to help keep my babies head cushioned and straight, and to make the reclined seat more comfy.
The Bundle Me is more like a sleeping bag, so in addition to padding you get warmth. For Spring/Summer the snuzzler will do the job. The bundle me is perfect for Fall/Winter.

Tara is a July baby and I got alot of use out of the Bundle Me. But I had a cover that went over the carseat only for Luke and between the two, I preferred that one. You really cant get the bundle me up around their shoulders without it flapping over their face. The other one went over the carseat (help in place with elastic) and had a zipper and a hole where their face peeked out. If we have another child, I will use that one again.

I have the same one as Elizabeth, the one that only goes over the car seat. I absolutely love it. My daughter is snugly in her car seat without any extra things on her. It keeps her warm as it has the sherpa lining.

I love the Bundle Me. It keeps Kiera nice and warm and I don't have to worry about a blanket blowing off her when there's strong winds.
I never heard it was a safety hazard. I agree with Michele, wait until Sept. and see how much longer the baby will be in the infant seat. We didn't really start using Kiera's until December and a July baby might be out of the infant seat by then.
