to dye or not to dye, that is the question

to dye or not to dye, that is the question

Im thinking about having my BMs dye their shoes to match the dress. I've heard lots of LIW brides say that this is outdated and not necessary. The BMs dresses are long and I dont even think they would be noticible. What do you think?

I think we chose the same BM dress, and I am having my girls choose - I said if they find a shoe that matches the dress that is fine, or they can buy dyed to match. To your point, since the dress is long, I figured shoes could be their choice. Plus, I'm prob buying them all matching flip flops to throw on once the reception gets going.

I do not think it is 'outdated' it is just more uncommon. I was going to have my BP dye to match but since their dresses are floor length and silver DOES look good with navy, I told them to get silver so they could wear the shoes again.

Don't let anyone tell you that your choices are outdated or bad. If that were the case, I'd never wear panty hose again with all of the hosiery haters here!

Wine goes with gold or silver. If you don't like the 'dyed' look see if you can find something, or just let them choose. My gals have said that they almost like the dyed shoe b/c they can usually find a pair that is pretty comfortbale - everyone gets to choose a shoe that fits best.

i am buying them dyed shoes. i think if their dresses were floor length i would not, but since they are tea length and the pink is so light, i just don't think silver will cut it. i don't see anything wrong with it. its a personal preference. i think it looks great, and most of the time better than silver or black (depending on the color dress) imo. ~lacey

I have been in 8 bridal parties and we have always had dyed shoes...

I have gotten them all at Sandy shoes in Massapequa and they always did a great job..

Since my BM dresses are black and yellow I am having the girls wear black shoes...

I say have them all do dye or not.. if not then I think sliver would look the best..

Also have them all wear open toe shoes or close toe shoes.. b.c that can looks weird if they are all different..

it depends on what you want... for me, it wasn't one of the things i stressed about, because my girls dresses were floor length, and you didn't see the shoes anyway... and the way they sat during the ceremony was up on the alter in like a 'choir' area, behind a short wall, so nobody saw the shoes while they were sitting down anyway....
but then again, i'm not a super detail oriented person... if you are, then i would have them get dyed shoes.... but i think silver shoes would like great with euro wine color... so you can't go wrong either way....

Dyed shoes are not for me, but that is my opinion. I don't see why every girls shoes have to match, especially if the dress is long.

It's a personal choice honestly. Our dresses are long, and yes, the shoes can be seen, but I told my girls to wear whatever shoe they want in either gold or the color of the dress (cashmere - as seen below)

I am also using Euro Wine...I told my girls that if they could find shoes to match, then buy them but if not, they would have to dye them to match the dress! Silver would just not going w/the dress & black is out of the question

I never notice the shoes that the bridesmaids are wearing. between the beautiful dress, the hair, makeup & bouquets, Im too focused on that.

My girls dresses are going to be in celedon, the dress is not floor lenght, so yes the shoes will be seen, and no they will not get dyed shoes. I am going to ask them to get silver shoes. This way they can wear them again. Who will ever wear a celedon shoe again?

JMHO, I am not a fan of dyed shoes.

Being a bridesmaid four times, I know for a fact that you don't see the shoes. I wore Euro Wine twice and once we wore dyeables and once we wore black shoes. I have never seen a pic of my shoes in either case.

I told my girls to wear black shoes, strappy, not strappy, open, closed, peep toe (my personal favorite)... I don't really care too much.

Put I think it's just a personal decision.
