To eat it or not to eat it.....

Should we eat our wedding cake next week (our 1 month anniversary) or next year?

Traditionally its a year....but I guess its what you wanna do.

ENJOY it if you decide to eat it for one month.

1 month anniv. This is what we will do - I don't want to eat nasty 1 year old freezer burned cake.
On our 1 year anniversary, we will buy ourselves a nice fresh pastry!

I say 1 month....at least it will taste good & free up space in your freezer.

eat it next week...my FH's aunt was talking to me about it, she did it the traditional way (1 year) and she said it was really gross

I would eat it for the first month, not the first yr. I'm not into the tradition of eating a yr old cake. But if you wanna go for the first yr, do it. But in my IMHO I would do the first month.

Yeah from what I have heard, the one year old cake usually doesn't taste great.

My parents have ours in LI soo we need to bring it back to our house next time we visit still!!!!

Technically one year - but who wants to eat year old cake??? I say eat it Janna and then ask the bakery to replicate your cake for your one year anniversary!!!! This way both are still fresh and delicious!

My FH and I are going to eat the top at the one month mark. But we are buying a really, really nice bottle of wine or champagne (not decided yet) now, to open on our one year.

Janna, we did both! We cut our top layer into pieces. In total, we ended up with 9 pieces. The night after our wedding, we each had a piece because we didn't get to enjoy it at the wedding...Then we took it out of the freezer when we got back from our HM & had a piece each night (1 month anniversary)

I have 2 slices in the freezer for our 1 year anniversary but we know it is going to tast gross

We were going to eat it on our 6 month anniversary, but we forgot! We'll do it on our one year when we get back from our anniversary trip.

My friend did both.

She said it was good for the one month but, it tasted terrible for the one year.

I say eat it for your one month anniversary.

it may be gross no matter when, but if you've saved it at all, you might as well wait for the big year mark.

I personally think a year is gross. After a month you might still enjoy it.
