in the wake of, well, my grandfather's wake, I have been thinking a lot about the size of my wedding and my guestlist. Before this happened, I had really kept it down to very close, immediate family and friends. for this reason, I have the SECOND largest room at my hall.
however, one of the highlights of the last few days for my family was seeing fh & I for the first time since we got engaged (we never had an eparty) many people that I did not think I would be able to invite were commenting, and no so much inviting themselves, but just mentioning how happy grandpa was and such, and it just made me feel terrible to not include these family members that have been so good to me and concerned for me during this time.
this is the thing- I am quickly coming to my rooms capacity as far as invites are concerned. should I contact my hall to see if the larger room is available on my day or do I keep to my original plan.
I think if I can get them to lower the minimum from 150 to 125 I would do it in a heartbeat, but I am not sure how high we will go, but comfortably, I can only get about 132 people in the smaller room.....

Re: to expand or not to expand
See what you could do, and how much more it would cost, and then worry aabout it. You have to make sure the room is even available first!

This is entirely up to you. I would first call WM and see is the Manor Room is available for your date as you know they book pretty quickly.

call first and see if the room is available so at least you know your options.

Re: to expand or not to expand
My minimum in the Manor Room for a Sunday afternoon wedding is 150 - I don't know if they will go lower than that. I would call your BM and see if the room in open - depending on your budget maybe you can negotiate a lower minimum for a slightly higher cost per person? Don't know if that will make sense but I agree with the post above - call and see if the room is open first and then take it from there.
I hope you're doing okay.....

I totally agree. Before you get yourself stressed about meeting minimums and rooms being overloaded with people - find out if you can even do it and take it from there.
