Re: To Glove or not to Glove
My opinion would be no. It doesn't look right to be wearing gloves on a hot August summer day. If you do want them, I wouldn't wear the long ones, Wear the ones that only go to the wrist.Just my opinion!

Re: To Glove or not to Glove
I have seen gloves worn in the summer months, but I agree with miss, I would go short.

Re: To Glove or not to Glove
Ok...I have a glove question...I'm marrying in December and would like to wear gloves with my spaghetti strap gown. Do you take the glove off enitrely for the exchange of rings or should I get the ones where just your ring finger comes out? And do you take the gloves off after the ceremony??

Re: To Glove or not to Glove
Cooky,I'm getting married in 2 weeks and am wearing fingerless gloves up to my elbow for just the ceremony. It's a compromise--I didn't want to wear gloves at all, but my mother really, really wanted me to, so I've agreed to wear them at the ceremony (since I have a halter dress, my arms and back are bare so I feel I can wear them for a little while without getting too hot).
Do you think your gown will be 'completed' with the gloves? If you want to wear them, you should. If you think you are going to be too hot, you can always take them off.
I've also seen mesh gloves, but those had fingers. There are many options, but you should do whatever makes you happy. It's your day!

Re: To Glove or not to Glove
ShellMarie, where did you get the fingerless gloves? My wedding is on the same day as yours and my BM's are also wearing Impressions seperates, in sky though.

I'm getting married in July and I don't want to wear anymore than I have to.I agree with the rest of the ladies, if you wear them wear the short ones.

Re: To Glove or not to Glove
Cooky-I found my gloves at the Pina Shop on Main Street in Patchogue. I liked them because they had lace at the top (near the hand) and the part that attaches to your hand goes around your middle finger. I've seen other fingerless gloves that go around the thumb and looked more like a cast than a glove. I think I've seen my glove online, too, but can't remember the web site. I hope you live near Pina!
P.S. Did you have any trouble getting your BM gowns in on time?

Re: To Glove or not to Glove
I wore above the elbow gloves for my August wedding. If ut looks great with your dress then GO FOR IT!!!I think it makes a dress look very elegant.

Re: Marnles
My cousin got married in October and had elbow length gloves. She took her ring finger glove off for the ring exchange and both off completely for the reception.I think it may be easier to get the ones where you can slip your ring finger out , but I don't know picture wise, if that's a good option either.
I've also heard of people putting rings on over the glove, but I wouldn't go that route.
Sorry, I really haven't been that much help, have I!

Shellmarie, Yes I live near Pina...and the Dresses came in about a month later then they said. It was only a month before the wedding and I guess you had promblems with the dresses coming in too?

Re: To Glove or not to Glove
Yes! Mine came in last week, 3 weeks late (they said they had moved to a new location). I was beginning to panic since two of my bridesmaids are out of town. But they look beautiful and I'm very happy with them.Let us know what you decide about the gloves.
