Do they induce labor early if the baby is shown to be really big, so you don't end up with a C-section? I'm kind of worried about how big the baby will be in the end since he was almost 6lbs. at 32 weeks! I have a sonogram to see how big he is on Thursday morning. I'm not really against a C-section if necessary, (I really don't want one) but I'm really scared about giving birth to a large baby. I don't want complications with him getting stuck or anything, you know? I just can't see them waiting until the last minute to see if he'll fit or not???

Re: To go along w/the early delivery question...
The baby will probably stop gaining so rapidly towards the end. They did induce me because my son was 10lbs at 38 weeks and I was not diabetic. They said if he had gone to term, he would have been over 11lbs. I think we were the exception to the rule though.

Re: To go along w/the early delivery question...
My baby was measuring pretty big from the sonos, but my doctor refused to induce me until I was past my due date OR I was dialated at least 3 centimeters. He said before then, you're just not ready.
My friend was induced 3 weeks early for an allegedly 10 pound baby. She needed to be induced twice because her body wasn't ready, and when the baby was born, she was a 5 pounder.
ETA Nicky was 22 inches long and 8 lbs 6 oz, which for my size was a HUGE baby, and I delivered him with no complications.
