To go in or not to go in...

To go in or not to go in...

...that is the question.

So of course my office is open, despite tha fact that every government office and school in the area is closed. Not to mention that there's over 8 inches on the ground by me and it's not stopping. Getting to work is not impossible, but it's going to be quite difficult. I know that if I am one of the few wo does not come in I will look bad, but at this point I really do not care.

What does everyone else think?

I am not going in. I drive to work and there's no way I am!

DO you drive or take the train? The trains are fine, they are running a little late, but I got here with no problems.

I can take either the subway or the express bus, but both are far from the house. The subway is a mile from my house and they do not shovel at all where I'd need to walk. I was thinking of calling a cab to take me to the train station, but who knows how long that would take?

My car is buried under all the snow - they haven't even plowed the parking lot of my apt building!!

Unfortunately, my company is always open, so I took a personal day. It's just not worth the hassle in this weather!!

Especially since you have precious cargo to think about

Personal day here too! The roads looks REALLY bad. I hope no one ventures out in this if they have to drive.

As guilty as I feel about it, I am going to call and leave a message for my boss (who I'm sure is not coming in until 10 , if she's coming in at all....she did take her laptop home last night) that I made several attempts to get to the train and I'm not comfortable traveling in the weather conditions so I'm staying home. I really don't think it's unreasonable to not want to travel in over 8 inches of snow.....

This is my problem. I'm on LI and have to be at work in midtown by 930... I already called and said I'll be late, then I called to say I was stuck in my driveway, COULD NOT GET OUT!!! Finally I left a voicemail for the Partner I work for. If he says stay home, I'm NOT going in. Sometimes people don't know what it's like living in the suburbs
