To Honor my Soldier Sister?

Hi Again Ladies,
I hope no one is tired of me yet....I still have a long way to go.

I was wondering...

My big sister is in the army and presently in Iraq. She would have been my Maid of Honor but she can't because we are unsure when she will be back and with getting dresses and stuff it is going to be a mess.

I wanted to do something special at our engagement party. Any ideas?

So, she 's NOT going to be at your engagment party, right?

You can have a toast to her weather she is ther or not.

Maybe have a guest book for her that people can pass around write messages & you can send it to her.

If she can come home for the wedding, there are last minture things she can do. mayeb have her as a reader, but have a back-up who won't be offended that 's she/he is the understudy.

And if you are announcing the bp at the reception, you can announce her after your parent & before your bridal party

She wont be at the engagement party and most likely not at the wedding. If she is at the wedding, I will have something for her to do. Not sure what yet but something!!!

Then I really lik the notes idea. at the end you could fill her in about the party & how you miss her & stuff.

If you can't send it to her while she is in Iraq, at least she will have it as a memento later.
and maybe video tape the party for her, for when she comes home.
