So, FH has a second cousin that his family is fairly close to. She will be 12 at our wedding, and I know was kind of hoping to be a jr. bridesmaid... Now, I am actually one short in the bridesmaid department, so i thought i'd inviter her to be in my wedding party... which would make it an even six and six (fh was the ring barer at her mom's wedding too...).
However, I'm afraid this might cause controversry in my family since none of my cousins are involved in my wedding party...
Should I ask her and take whatever drama comes my way? Or should I just keep my slightly uneven bridal party...
TIA

Re: To Jr. Bridesmaid or not to Jr. Bridesmaid...
Easy:
if you want her to be a part of your wedding party, then ask her.
if you don't want her to be a part of your wedding party, then don't ask her. Nevermind what other people say. Just tell them it's none of their business.

If your family says something say that you wanted a small bridal party and FH asked that his cousin would be in it, that it was important to him ... kind of gets you out of getting blamed for chosing her over your cousins.

if it were only that easy... everything is my mother's business...
I was pretty much told that unless asked my step-brother to be in the wedding (who i'm not really close to and who fh barely knows) that i shouldn't expect any monetary help...
I mean, we were going to ask him, just hadn't had the opportunity... but i just don't like feeling like i'm being blackmailed into doing something for what's supposedly my wedding...

THats a tough one but I would ask her and take the drama that unfolds..she would feel so special to be in your party and if there is drama you can always use 'well its my wedding'

OH shoot...I didn't realize that. OK then, I would still ask her and take the drama that unfolds

yeah, i know i'm really lucky and all to have my parents paying for the majority of the wedding... and i thank God for being in this situation, i just hate how she likes to hold it over me...

Can you talk to her about your desire to even things out before approaching your cousin?-
