I'm not Haitian but FH is and we went with In the Mix DJ because they could play a variety including some Kompa.

Im getting married in 50 days and I need advice about booking a DJ. Both FH and I are haitian--absolutely necessary that kompa, zouk, reggae and soca are played at my wedding and played well

For the haitian brides who recently got married, let me know about your DJs?

Very good post..I was wondering the same thing...FH is Haitian so we need a DJ that can play everything from kompa to reggae to hip hip,to R&B....

We have been thinking about Ultimate Sounds but we really want to look around....

Anyone know of dance place that can give some Kompa lessons? Future BIL wants everyone to know how to dance at his wedding- the dances almost looke close to a Merengue, is that right?

Re: to my fellow haitian brides

My cousin had them for his wedding in March at the Elite Palace. They did a really nice job on the photo montage. At first I didn't really like them because they played dance music during dinner, and all I wanted to do was leave the dinner table and go dance, and got annoyed when I obviously couldn't do that. So I didn't like that. But later on I found out that my cousin requested they play dance music throughout the entire wedding. The mc was really hyped up and danced with the guests throughout the wedding. which was cool. What I did like was that they played some really nice Zouk, Kompa, and reggae songs. We are a Caribbean family, so that got us all REALLY hyped up. All in all after finding out my idiot cousin is the one who requested that songs like 'murder she wrote' be played during dinner. They were pretty good. And I think they only charged him like 1000 dollars
