So I keep going back and forth and today we saw a great deal on one. My question is does it seem too sweet 16ish. My FFIL hated a wedding because the DJ gave out props like at a sweet 16 and he has said that a wedding should be more sophisticated. Our crowd is pretty much 1/3 20-35 year olds and 2/3 35-70. what do you think?

Although I wouldn't do DJ giveaways I do love the photobooth. FSIL just had one at her wedding and everyone had so much fun. Your guests get to take home a memory and then you get memories of everyone being silly & having fun at your wedding.

We did one at our engagement party and everyone loved in. Even the older guest enjoyed it although I would say the under 40 probably had the most fun with it. I don't like the props thing personally with the photobooth but other then that we loved it and so did our guest.

seeing them at shows, i thought it was so tacky for a wedding. Of course, I couldn't walk past and NOT take pictures, LOL... After hearing so many positives from guests seeing them before, I booked one!

Same for me! I didn't even want a DJ at first bc I thought it was very sweet sixteen/block partyish... but after seeing them both in action at a showcase I realized how much different they are for a wedding and booked both

I plan on having one and doing the scrapbook but not the props. The props make it every sweet 16ish in my opinion. I figure Ill have enough funny pictures without the props once the alcohol sets into my guests later in the night anyways

I think this has convinced me to have one. I can only imagine some of the pictures that are to come of our drunk guests (which we have already been told will be quite a few)

Thanks everyone. The offer on the photo booth was too good to pass up and I didn't want to regret it later and end up paying a ton more. I'm now a lot less worried about people thinking it's too sweet 16 (even though I've decided to keep this a secret until the wedding). Thank you everyone

Re: to photo booth or not
I just went to a wedding that had a photobooth. It was a lot of fun. The booth would print out two copies of the photo strip. The guests keep one copy (could count as a favor) and the other copy goes into a scrapbook where the guests can write messages to the happy couple. The photos got funnier as the night went on, thanks to alcohol. Haha!
