To see or Not to see...

your MAN before you get hitched???

So, I kinda wanna enjoy my CH... only like miss 20 mins for pics

We wanna do some pics before we get married. Neither of us are 'worried' about seeing each other...

I just wanna get some past/current Brides thoughts about this... I have heard YES its great to see each other b4..and I have heard NO its horrible...

I am totally open to all thoughts... NO Matter what they are!!!

TIA Ladies!

i would prefer not to see each other pre-ceremony but i refuse to miss CH. We're going to see each other about 2 hours before the ceremony for pictures

I'm actually for it but i'm not a superstitious person at all. I suggested it to my FH but he wasn't into it and I KNOW his mom wouldnt be either. I personally don't see the big deal. I'd rather enjoy the CH too!!! I totally hear ya.

I was dead set against it, but we changed our minds. I feel it will allow us to enjoy our wedding more, and no rush through pictures.

Well...we live together, are getting ready in the same place, and going to take pics before the ceremony (we don't want to miss a minute of anything!) so we are obviously going to see each other before hand.

FH and I will definitely be seeing each other prior to the ceremony. We plan on going to the hall together, with the fancy car getting me and then getting him. He's already upset that I won't be staying at our apartment that night and will be staying at my parent's to get ready, so I know he will be seeking me out as soon as he can.

Re: To see or Not to see...

We are not seeing each other but that is because we decided to get married at a church and leave enough time for pics

I'm not supersticious (sp?) but we did not want to see each other until I walked down the aisle..and while I think the 'revel' is nice it's not my cup of tea

But definately nothing wrong with it

We are doing the same thing.

We will probably see each other 1 hr before the ceremony. Only b/c I don't want to rush the pictures during CH.
That and it will alleviate any jitters we may have before the ceremony.

do what works for you.....

We did not see each other before the ceremony and I'm glad we didn't.... but that being said WHENEVER you see each other for the first time that day and you are in your wedding gown, it's going to be magical!

We are not going to...however my girlfriend did, and it was cute how they did it.

They arrived separately, and the photog stood them back to back, then they turned around and saw eachother (and the photog was able to capture that moment!!) It really was adorable. Almost like a 'revealing ceremony'

for me, i dont want to see each other before the ceremony, i really want him to first see me walking down the aise, i think it kinda ruins the specialness if you see each other beforehand im old fashioned like that

Re: To see or Not to see...

I think it really depends on whether you are getting married at a church or the RH. With the church, you have so much time in between usually that you don't need to see each other before hand. But with the RH, you don't have anytime and would have to miss your CH.

We originally didn't want to see each other, but our photog convinced us. I'm sure it will still be special seeing him walking down the aisle. Also, I really don't want to miss all of cocktail hour, which i'm spending a pretty penny on.

I definitely don't want to see FH before the wedding. I am actually not going to be seeing him for a full 48 hours before the wedding. Afetr the rehearsal dinner, FH will be going back to our place in Queens and I will be staying at my mom's in the Bronx until the wedding.

Re: To see or Not to see...

My FH and I are really traditional so we're not going to see each other before hand... We both agree that the first time we see each other that day will be at opposite ends of the aisle..

It works out for us though because our ceremony starts at 3 pm and our cocktail hour doesn't start until 6 so we have time in between to take pictures with everyone and there will be hospitality for our guests 30 prior to CH so they won't be bored.. or without a drink ;)

HH is great with timing though, Matt told us he wouldn't mind extending the CH by a 1/2 hour... so perhaps you could make that first half hour only hospitality so you can enjoy more of it?

Either way though I'm sure you'll still have a great time... (and great foodies! :P )
