Is anyone else thinking about not having a shuttle to/from their wedding events? We're having both our wedding ceremony and reception at the Swan Club, and most of our guests are from out-of-town and are staying at the same hotel, which is fairly close to the venue. But we're having a daytime wedding that ends at 5:30 (so probably not TOO much wild and crazy drinking), and I think most of the OOT guests are renting cars for the weekend. Shuttles are SO expensive and I just don't know if it's worth it. We were thinking we could do carpool sign-ups at the hotel if guests don't want to drive themselves.
What do you think? Is a shuttle really necessary or worth it?

To shuttle or not to shuttle?
We are only having a shuttle if we get enough rooms at the hotel. The hotel is 15 minutes from the venue, and everything is at one location. I think it really is a personal preference. My friends wedding everyone was out of town and she just provided a shuttle for family and bridal party/SO, no one else. If we don't get enough rooms for the shuttle at the hotel, we aren't providing one. And if we get too many people, I'm just going to limit it to family.

I don't think a shuttle is necessary but I definitely think it's worth it. It's just a nice touch and a courtesy to your guests that do want to let loose and drink. The out of towners might be looking to drink since they have the hotel.

I need a shuttle, our church is in Nassau county and our reception is in Suffolk. I went to a wedding that was all over too and it was inconvenient, I want my guests to enjoy their time and not have to worry about getting lost or being late.
