after watching several youtube videos of brides and grooms smashing each other in the face with wedding cake i wonder.... how many people actually find this funny or amusing??
I think it is horribly disrespectful to either.... esp when you will having pictures taken and capturing this moment in time forever..
We are not smashing! I would be so upset and FH says he thinks its rude.

Edited to add that I just watched I'd kill him...he'd find something like that funny too. No smashing for us....I'd like to keep my make up in tact until the end of the night
Edited to add that I just watched the video (I couldn't see it from work before) and that is totally not cute...they went way overboard. That was just disgusting...they looked like they were full blown fighting at some points. A smudge on the nose is ok but that - totally unacceptable

It's awful...FH and I were actually watching something last night where a really drunk bride and grrom smashed cake all over each other...it was so taste-less..
I actually read an article once that said that couples who smash cake in each other's faces have a higher divorce rate!

I told FH DO NOT think about it after I spend $$$ on my dress, $$$ on my make-up, $$$$$on hair...no way in HeII is that getting ruined in any way shape or form by the cake I also spent $$$$ on!!!!

i think it depends on your personalities to decide whether you will/would smash. if you want to do it, more power to ya! i personally would not, but im sure peopel have their reasons
be careful ladies, there are brides on here that have smashed

Good point Lisa! I won't do it, but if you did and enjoyed it...I guess that's all that matters!

Re: to smash or not to smash
We did not smash. FH (DH) warned me. But he feed me first so when it was his turn - I put a little icing on his nose. It was a cute moment.
ETA: Opps he is my DH now. Still cant get used to it.
