To smear or not to smear?

Original post by lipglossjunky73

Are any of you guys gonna smear the wedding cake on each other's faces? Some people think it's awful and I even heard it's passive aggressive or something - but we are going to do it - it's our personalities - we are always wrestling and doing stupid things...

Anyone else?

I'm not one for cake on my face.. I prefer it to be in my belly!

Thanks for reminding me to make FH promise not to smear!! I would be so upset, I don't want to ruin my hair, make-up, or dress!!

Have you see LIFE magazine and Today Show's finalist for the 'perfect kiss'? One of them was of a couple kissing right after the cake cutting ceremony and the bride's face is COVERED in cake. Link to the segment

Just saw it - how cute - I loved the older couple whose husband died - I wanted to cry when they said he died! What a beautiful picture!!! All of them were beautiful!!!

Not to smear, it is somewhat classless, JMO

I wouldn't say it's classless - there may be people who might do it or already did it - I certainly wouldn't want people to be offended!!I guess it just doesn't vibe with everyone's personalities - some of my family members have done it, and it fit them, and people thought it was cute - I never thought it was classless at all... I know my FH is going to do it to me ESPECIALLY if I ask him not to because he is just a big silly kid - to each his/her own - but it's interesting to see how few people want to do it.... a fun post nevertheless...

I said no to the smear, because I know me. Someone puts food on me there is going to a huge food fight. My FILs aren't going to be too happy about this whole untraditional wedding thing as is, I think the food fight is going too far. LOL tempting though.

DH and I did not smear because I spend waaaaaaaaaaay to much money ongetting my make up done so I could not afford to mess up my beautiful face.
