Thanks for your posting...I am very much in the same situation. We really want the water but our numbers are making it difficult to find a place to accommodate us (except Lands End, which we LOVE but may not be able to afford). What is the Vineyard? Is that out on the North Fork with the wineries or is it something else? I'd be interested in getting more info, if you wouldn't mind... Thanks again!

The Vineyard
I am getting married on November 3rd at the Vineyard. It is in Cutchogue, very close to Riverhead. The wineries surround the catering hall. I am so excited. They have a website www.vineyardcaterers.com.
For more info., you should give Bill Abazis a call. He is a great help.

Try Port Jeff CC. It's on the water and can accommodate up to 250 in their facility.

Yup! I'm referring to Vineyard Caterers on the North Fork of Long Island. I LOVED lands end but it was the same story. There was no way I could afford it. I can honestly say that I love Vineyard just as much though. It's the only place I looked at that wasn't on the water and I'm so happy I did. It's so unique and beautiful. They only do one wedding at a time, the cocktail hour is outdoors overlooking acres of vineyards, and the inside is simple but elegant and very spacious. Give it a shot. Good luck!

Thanks! Any chance you could give me an idea of how much Vineyard is costing per person? I did look at their website and it looks beautiful! When I had first started this process, I actually thought that my other option (besides the water) was a winery. However, I am concerned about the distance, as the church is in Commack. It might be too far to travel for my guests...?

I thought the same thing, but you know what? You only get married once. My dad's cousin's daughter got married there and her church was in huntington. nobody complained. the cost changes depending on which day you have it, whether you are planning a day or a night wedding, and what season you have it in. obviously, the highest rates are may - sept on a saturday nite. i'm having mine in july on a sunday (which i liked better because you get to choose your start time and have the whole place to yourself all day) and it's $105/person. saturday nite was like $120 or something i think. much more expensive than the riviera but well worth it i think. at least visit. once you see the bridal suite, you may reconsider your decision. i think we may have the same taste, so i say go for it. let me know whatchya think!
