Hi all! I am very fair and I am opposed to going to a tanning booth or laying out because skin cancer runs in my family. Also, I noticed that even with sunblock on, I start to get freckles all over if I am out in the sun too long. I want to be tan for my wedding and almost every day I put self tanner on my face and sometimes on my body during the summer, but I decided I want to try that all over spray on tan that you do in a booth.
So here is my question...Anyone ever tried it? Will it make me orange? Also, I am worried about it being uneven, fading before the big day, or getting all over my clothes, including possibly the wedding gown if I sweat.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!

I am exactly the same way. the people at the bridal shop actually complimented me on staying out of the sun and avoiding tan lines. i'm considering spray tan since my wedding is in Aug but i'm afraid it will rub off on my dress. I'll prob just go au natural or try out a spray tan the month before....

Re: To Tan or Not To Tan?
I am so against fake tans. They look horrible when its the winter and its like yea right you have natural tan skin in December? I just don't get it what is wrong with being pale?

Spray tan is definately NOT the way to go...
you have to keep up with it, and around your hairline it stays pale. if you don't keep going it gets blotchy.
I saw a girl in the mall (who was very fair) wearing a t-shirt that read 'pale is the new tan'....thought it was hysterical...let that be your motto :)

Re: To Tan or Not To Tan?
I tried the spray booth for my e-pics and it was god awful. I hated it and washed it off as soon as I got home but I was still left with streaks. I've never tried the airbrush tanning but it sounds great and everyone else that has done it raves about it. There is a place in great neck that does it, brazil bronze I think the name is, and they are a vendor on this site. A little pricey but definitely well worth it

Re: To Tan or Not To Tan?
I've done Mystic Tan a few times and I like it. One word of advice though... do it 2 days before the wedding. 1 day after I do it, the color tends to be just slightly too much... but the following day it usually looks much better. It has never come off on my clothes.
I've also been debating trying out airbrush tanning... my cousin works at a tanning salon so I might just go test it out. I'm very pale as well and my wedding is in April... before anyone is usually tan... so obviously I don't want it to look ridiculous. But I also don't want to look like Casper in my wedding photos! Especially since my FH is Italian and is naturally darker than me as it is.

I've learned to love my freckles - tans look weird on me. Let's face it, I'm WHITE....why mess with nature. I wouldn't be me with no freckles.

Re: To Tan or Not To Tan?
Hmmm...I got information from Hollywood Tans, which is in my area. They have the six second spray on tan featured on Good Morning America. It is supposed to last 5-7 days and look natural. What is Mystic Tan and what is Airbrush Tanning? The girl told me I should do the tanning once a week for a few weeks prior to get a base. What do you all think?

Re: To Tan or Not To Tan?
this is the website for brazil bronze. Basically an airbrush tan is someone spraying you instead of standing in a booth that automatically sprays you
Thanks for the clarification on that. Maybe I will have to try the Brazil Bronze. I will be in LI two days prior to the wedding. I might try Hollywood Tans in Lancaster to see how it works out in the next few months.
