To the ladies that read, but don't post:

Original post by EvenEdan

Why don't you register and start a 'Not Yet Engaged, but Waiting' thread or post on whatever brings you to this board but stops you from posting, that way you can feel more a part of it. Whatever you do, just don't pretend to a bride planning for a wedding.
I think it would be nice to meet more users!

Welcome to all 'lurkers' please become 'posters' soon. It's fun and easy
I agree- get rid of the groom and in-law board (which I always thought was silly since who would want their MIL reading their posts?) and make it a not yet engaged area and one for our book club
Always remember that sometimes our posts are read with a different 'voice' then we intended- similar to e-mails. So try not to jump the moment you think someone has accused you of something. 9 out of 10 times we are just miscommunicating.

I agree with you Michele, it is usually just miscommunication! Welcome to all new brides and finaces-to-be!! I have to admit, i don't often post and sometimes feel out of the loop. it can be a little intimidating to post, especially when you first start. I think EvenEdan was trying to help make it less intimidating, which was really nice!

Welcome everyone!

OOOHHHHH! A bookclub! I love that idea! I'm always looking for a good book to read!

Welcome, Sparkette!

Re: To the ladies that read, but don't post:

I agree with JoRo. I am having a long engagement, and sometimes it's uncomfortable at first to post. I find it hard to feel 'in the loop' especially since I have a long ways to go. I think it is easier to feel in the loop once you are closer to the wedding date and have a lot of planning taking place. Until that point is reached, I find myself feeling like a 'lurker'. Maybe we should start a 'Long-Engagement' Board as well as the ones that have been suggested.

900 + days and counting

for those who dont post that often, believe me start posting, it will become your addiction.

You hit board enthusiast at 50 posts, and then at 200 you get a different title, then at 500, and so on. After a while you start to notice how many posts you have and just keep posting to get a new title.

Dont be shy, we're all here to listen, help and do wedding talk

Hi girls, I was at the NYC GTG and will be at the upcoming GTG. I really don't post often. Normally I just read and get ideas and reviews from all you wonderful girls. I just recently began to post more. I usually check liweddings at work so I don't get a chance to post as much as I would like.

Hey, I just noticed I got upgraded from a Newbie to an Enthusiast

I admit too that I was a lurker for a few weeks before I got engaged then I finally broke down and posted about 3 weeks before I got engaged!
I think all the girls on this site are great, especially since one of my first posts was about worrying that I would not be able to find a nice reception hall with 7 minths to my wedding. I received so many responses and forum mails with suggestions, dates that were available at reception places due to a bride canceling or switching, etc. Plus tons of encouragement! Since then, the help has kept on coming whether through just reading threads, posting questions or e-mailing. Thanks so much everyone!

**By the way, yesterday I booked a trial with Jen from FairyTale Makeovers and she asked how I heard about her....LIWeddings.com of course. I also told her, If it weren't for this board I bet I never would have even heard of the North Ritz Club and now we are booked there for July 19th!

Re: To the ladies that read, but don't post:

honey don't worry, I was told that I was 'agressive' when I first posted yesterday, so don't feel like you're 'lurking' simply because you don't feel right about posting right away. Nobody owns these boards, except for the actual community leaders that help monitor them, so don't feel like you can't be free to post or not post. Welcome and if you need a buddy you're more than welcome to email me or post anything to me!!

I lurked right after I got engaged. Sometimes, I still lurk! Not enought hours in the day to post as often as I would like. Please post in between bouts of lurking

And also - we have a bookclub???

Welcome to all the new folks.

We are trying to start a bookclub on newlywed board.

For the married folks, there is a newlywed site, we would love to chat with you over there.

Hi Girls: I'm pretty new to this. My FH's cousin told me how she's addicted to this board, but never posts. I 'lurked' for about 4 hrs straight the first time (slow @ work), yup, I'm officially ADDICTED. Now I mostly read, cause it's soooo helpful. You guys are great. =)
