He is driving me friggin bananas. We can't go to dinner, he can't do laundry, he can't go to Mass, he can't watch the Yankees, he can't go have a beer on Friday night (after 8 hours of studying all day Friday). I admire his dedication but this is driving me crazy.

Thrilled, I hear ya! Yesterday he studied for hours, so he could go to a BBQ with me in the late afternoon, and then at the last minute decided to stay home to 'review a procedure' that he probably 'reviewed' 1000 times. I can't wait to have my fun DH back!!!

My dad retired as a LT in the NYPD. When he finally made LT, all 6 of us (his kids) were there to cheer him on! It's a big accomplishment - Good Luck to them all!

Good luck to your DHs. My DH had started studying back in January - he is still a PO but is high up on the SGT list and thought he would be in this last SGT class just in time to take the LT test and get it over with. Unfortunately they only put in half a SGT class last month so he just missed it. He stopped studying for the LT test right after that. All that money he wasted. He is happy though, because he loves what he is doing now and although he is excited to be promoted, he just isn't ready to leave his command. Keeping my fingers crossed for your DHs so they (and you) don't have to go through it again!
