I tried to search around for this answer but could not find a consistent answer. Who do you tip in connection with the reception hall?
Do you tip both the Banquet Manager and the Maitre'd? How about the bartenders and bathroom attendants? Anyone else?
Please Help! i am soo confused...

Re: To tip or not to Tip
Good Question! I was wondering the same thing. At first I thought we just have to tip the Maitre D but someone recently told me I have to tip my BM too and the bridal attendant. My hall doesn't have a bathroom attendant. But on my contract it points out that gratuity for the Maitre D is not included and they recommend an amount. But I'm paying an 18% 'service fee' which I thought was a tip for all the bartenders, waiters, valet guys etc?
Thanks for your answers and thanks for bumping the thread. So is the consensus - no tipping for the BM? I do not want to look bad. I t seems that no one does but I read in one thread that you should...

Re: To tip or not to Tip
I will defeintely tip my matire d'...but at my hall there's a good chance that my BM WILL be the maitre d'--so i probably will end up tipping him anyway.
maybe not everyone will do this--but i plan on tipping the bartenders, bathroom attendants, and waitstaff. maybe it's because i was a waitress for several years and i know what it's like to have to work for tips! believe it or not, you'd be surprised how little those waiters and bartenders wind up getting at the end of the night.

You don't have to tip the Banquet Manager. He is getting a commission on booking your party. I wouldn't tip him or her. You will have to tip your Maitre'D and your bridal attendant. Maybe you will want to give your waitstaff a little extra since they really won't see that 18% gratuity.

Your hall should help you with this. The BM, bartenders, and bathroom attendants I do believe is part of the 18% gratuity added to the bill. I tipped the Maitre'd $2-$3 per-person. If you pay less gratuity I would probally throw them $50 bucks or so.
