To tip or not to tip....photographers

Do you tip your photographers? What about the band?

Does anyone have a list of who you do tip?

yup i tipped my photog. videog. and the guy who made my montage.

didnt have a band but i tipped my DJ and MC

and thanks for quick replies...FH and I are trying to figure out what money we need set aside....big day in a week and a half!!!!

its up to you but for the sake of sanity we tipped everyone $100 and then DH got drunk and kept giving them more bc we were so happy with everyone

at one point our MC actually gave DH BACK some of his money

but in the envelopes we had $100 originally

i made an envelope for every single person
here is a quick list off the top of my head

priest
church music guy

Maitre D
bridal attendant

flower delivery guy

DJ
MC
montage guy

Fancy Car Driver
2 Limo Drivers
Limo driver who picked us up that night
Limo driver who drove us home the next day

Hair
makeup

Each Envelope had who it was for and then it said Thank you, Love Anthony and Matilde
Our MOH and BM gave those out

then we got another envelope with 1000 in there for any extras and for extra tips that we felt people deserved

yeah DH was a different person that night. he is usually really shy and quiet but that night he was BFF with all of our vendors

he was begging our photographer to stay and not take pictures, just hang out! LOL

In general, i think maitre'd gets $3-$5 per person, and the rest of the people you want to tip get ~$50-$100. All of these tips, of course, depend on their performance and quailty of service.

We tipped everyone

they're in the service industry

don't read what etiquette says

if they provide a service..You tip

do you tip the valet guys as well and the coat check people?? i mean when i go someplace even a wedding i normally tip them myself.

oh and the bartenders does the bride and groom tip them at the end as well??

we did not tip valets or coat check people - actually i hope you dont have to bc i didnt think of it until you mentioned it

as for the bartenders we didnt tip them at the end but DH tipped them whenever we were near there, a bit more generously than we would have if we were just guests

but honestly, you arent even near the bartenders all that much once you tell them what you want they keep giving it to you all night LOL

we tipped everyone and put more money in some of the vendors envelopes at the end of the night..

we tipped everyone at least 100 dollars....some got more.........
