Ugh what a pain...I am so sorry that this happened...How old is the girl? Maybe you can say that you are cutting off by ages? Are there any other family members/friends who are that age that you werent planningo n ahving in the bridal party? Maybe you can explain that if you included her you would have to include x, y and z also? does that make sense?

She'll be 17 by that time and I think she falls in to being a JR. Brides maid . I mean the more people I add the more money so I really dont know with it.

Are you having flower girl/ring bearer? If not, i would just say that I didnt want anyone other than bridesmaids and groomsmen...no jr bridesmaids, no flower girls etc...

Well them being in your party, doesnt really have to cost you $$$... If its going to create a war, I think you should just include her as a jr bm and go cheap with her gift... That must sound so bad... but ya know, if ya gotta cut corners....

thats true, it just surprized me because it kinda came out of left field.

Thats EXACTLY what happened to me. Except FH told one of his groomsmen that the groomsmen's son Nicholas could be a ringbearer. I was like I DONT EVEN HAVE A FG!!! Soooo pissed....now I have to have a 4 yr old in the wedding party. And Im too nice to say no. So I feel your pain. People always assume way too much

You can always put your foot down and say no! Its YOUR wedding not everyone elses ya know?

thats a sticky situation. Did you explain the situation fully to FH? I feel like you werent wrong at all in what you did or said. Nobody should 'assume' anything...

however, gina's right... it wouldnt be THAT much more expensive for you.. SHE'S the one that has to buy the dress ya know? You just have to get the typical 'bridal party' gift... and since shed only be a junior bridesmaid, you can get a less expensive one for her...

p.s. i feel like she may not even want to be in it now, knowing that you dont really want her in it... i would be really uncomfortable in that situation if i were her... like to be in the bridal party of someone who didnt want me there.

The only people who know they will be in it are FH's 2 nieces and nephew... They will stand in place for FH's bro and sis since they are much older than him & we wouldnt have put them in the bridal party anyways

Thats a good way to go about it. I tried to not complicate things they were going smooth until I hit this , but everything is alright for now

best of luck I plan to do the same thing book RH and church then hide under a rock for 9 months !!
