To Yabbobay and other Lands End Brides...
Well, we did it. We put down a deposit on a date in July 2003 at Lands End. Yikes! Next step is signing the contract. Just wondering if anyone else thought this sequence was a bit odd - i.e., putting down $1,000 before ever even seeing the contract? Anyway, I also wanted to ask specific advice from those of who have signed contracts there. Anything in particular we should watch for and/or ask to change and/or be sure to include? I appreciate your advise. You can post to the board or email me personally at [email protected]. Thanks!!

That's the order we did it in. We put down the $1000 and then they wrote the contract per our specifications (time, date, etc.) It was pretty straightforward. They've been great - they even called me last week to let me know the earlier party that day had cancelled so I could move our wedding up a bit - they knew the late start was a concern when we signed with them and remembered 3 months later! They include everything, so you really don't need to worry about being nickle and dimed there. They even inlude things you don't know about (like votive candles around the cocktail hour). Just make sure that the details you agreed to are correct on the contract (price, date, # guarantee, and any extras you've negotiated). We had passed shrimp cocktail thrown in and it wasn't on the contract, so we wrote it in before we signed it and they were fine with that. Good luck & Congrats!

I'm getting married at Lands End next September. The ceremony is at 7 so I'm a little worried about the sunset, but it should be OK. When we signed our contract at Lands End, it was right before someone's wedding and it was gorgeous! Lands End puts candles everywhere! Have any of you been to a ceremony and reception at Lands End?

Land`s End July 02
YEAH ALISON!!!!!!!! I just love it there...and by 2003 you'll have plenty of time to get the money together...as Lisa siad, Im not too sure you have to worry about the contract...they even put on the brouchure that they do not try to give addons and their price is the way it is because of it. Who did you work with? Ive been working with Gina, but Courtney always helps me out when I call. I guess just check the price and date and time and guartentee # about the deposit...I think its just a formality...a bride here cancelled her date at Land's End after giving the 2000 deposit (1000 now and 1000 with the contract - and I think they gave her most of it back) they are just really decent people. Good luck - if you have any questions about it feel free to email me [email protected] I love talking about it...:)

We are having our reception there next month, so I will let you know how everything goes. They have been a pleasure to work with so far, so you should feel secure in your choice of reception halls.Welcome New Vendors
