FH proposed to me at the park near our house in front of the Christmas tree a year and a half ago. After he proposed, our families were all waiting at home where they threw us a surprise engagement party. It was the best night of my life.
OK...here's my problem.
FH's parents bought us toasting flutes with our names on them. They expect us to use these same glasses on our wedding day. They are nice and very sentimental to me....HOWEVER, my aunt bought us another set....REALLY nice ones.
What would you do....go with the sentimental ones OR the really nice ones? I can't decide!!!

Re: Toasting Flute Dilemma
I would probably use the sentimental ones but if you can try to have both pairs somewhere in the wedding that would be good too.

Re: Toasting Flute Dilemma
I have a somewhat similar situation where my mom's best friend (like an aunt to me) AND my aunt/godmother bought us 2 sets of flutes as engagement gifts. We are probably just going to use both, since Lord knows there will be more than one toast at the wedding!!

I would probably go with the sentimental ones for the wedding.
You could use the REALLY nice ones for the RD or HM.

Re: Toasting Flute Dilemma
We are using both. One set is going on the table with our other stuff and one will be on the little table with us

Re: Toasting Flute Dilemma
I would go with sentimental ones for two reason: A) they have a meaning to you, and B) your FIL bought them for you and it would mean alot to them.

Re: Toasting Flute Dilemma
maybe do 2 toasts one in the beginning and one after dinner?
PS i have the same dilemma! i bought 2 on my own b/c i couldn't decide b/w the 2 ( ilove them both!)! and then my aunt bought me another--so right now i have 3 sets!ha!..........i will probably use the ones my aunt gave me and save mine for something else like a romantic picnic in the park!
good luck w/your choice!!

Re: Toasting Flute Dilemma
use both! either at the RD or have 2 sets at the wedding for 2 separate toasts - maybe use your parent's for your father's toast (if he is giving one) and your aunt's for the best man's toast....

Re: Toasting Flute Dilemma
I have this same problem. We got 2 sets. One from FH aunt and one from my mom. Of course if it comes down to only having to use one it'll be my moms. but we don't want to hurt FH's aunt feelings. we still havn't figured out what we'll do yet.
