Are a lot of you doing the toasting flutes for the reception. I'm deciding if I want to get them.

Re: Toasting flutes
Hi Gail.
We didn't get toasting flute. I actually took 2 flutes from my good Crystal and used those. Now everytime I look at my crystal I think of the wedding day.

Re: Toasting flutes
We got them on a whim one day. We were out at Pugliese (where we got engaged) and noticed that they had hand-painted champagne flutes with pink roses on them. They were really pretty so we decided to get them. We might actually get a wine glass from them for our wine ceremony too (not the one where you mix white and red wine -- that sounds gross to me ).

I wasn't going to bother with the extra expense, but FSIL bought us the Vera Wang Love Knots and I was more than pleased!!!

My sister and BIL bought us the Swarovski Crystal ones too, so we will be using them at the wedding.

Re: Toasting flutes
I wasn't going to but bought a pair of Waterford toasting flutes. I justified the purchase with a couple of silly reasons:
1. I registered for the Marquis by Waterford line. I figured I'd get two higher end Waterford glasses.
2. I'm 100% Irish so it covers an ethnic tradition
3. We are getting married on the 4th of July and figure that every 4th FH and I will be off from work and can celebrate by drinking our beverage of choice out of the toasting flutes... therefore getting a lot more than one day's use out of them
4. They kinda have a fireworks look to them so it goes with the day.
5. I found a website that sold them for over $20 below retail price and they were even cheaper on there than some of the e-bay sellers.
I can come up for a reason for anything

Re: Toasting flutes
Yes b/c we got them for my bridal shower.
Not sure if I would have spend the $$ if not for that. We actually didnt get any good pictures of them!! I forgot to ask them to take a pic of just the glasses( and for $150 a glass I want pictures of 'em!)

Re: Toasting flutes
I didn't want to spend a lot of money on toasting flutes. And I didn't want to panic if something had happened to them. So, I bought inexpensive ones, so if something happens (i.e., they break, get lost after the reception) it won't be a big deal.

Re: Toasting flutes
On our one year anniversary of dating my fh and i went to a bed and breakfast. I wanted it to be special so I bought two crystal flutes at tj maxx for sooo cheap and champagne. We will use those as our toasting flutes.

Id like to save them forever and have our anniversary toast in them every year.
