When do the Best MAn and Maid of Honor do their toasts?

In all the weddings I have gone too I have never seen the MOH do a toast.. is that a new tradition? My sis will freak.. she hates to talk in front of people..

I had read somewhere that the MOH does a toast also, since she holds the same status pretty much as the best man....maybe not everyone does it....I'm not making mine do it, but she can if she wants

I've only been to one wedding where the MOH did a toast also. My MOH can if she wants, I'm not expecting her to though.

MOH can make a speech but I did not think its a must.

MOH & BM are doing their speeches right after the 1st dance.

Since we are trying very hard to blend cultures here, we think this is how our reception will go:

Entrance into reception
appetizer & entree without interruption (ie no dancing)
Speeches - BM, FOB, Groom
First Dance
regular dance sets
parent's dances
regular dance sets
cake cutting
regular dance sets
bouquet toss (no garter)

I was at a friend's wedding this weekend and they had lots of speeches throughout the evening. First her dad welcomed everyone. Later on the BM and a GM both spoke. Then his dad made a speech and towards the end of the evening the bride and groom thanked everyone for coming. It was really nice.
