I know the best man and maid of honor usually do toasts/speeches but is there a protocol as to when each is done? is one at the rehearsal or are both at the reception? thanks!
Traditionally...at the reception, however they might want to say something at the RD.
I don't think there is any exact way of doing it. Most of the rehearsals we have been to....the FH did the toast thanking everyone for helping throughout the engagement. And usually at the reception if both BM and MOH are making speeches (like my BM and MOH) your RH and DJ/BAND will know when to have them do it. You can have either of them go first...i went first for my sister's wedding but ive been to weddings where the BM went first....sorry if that didn't help you at all but confuse you.....LoL

My moh's did toasts at our rehersal dinner and the best men and my father toasted at the wedding. it doesnt matter when they toast - its really up to them when they want to.
