Toasts mandatory?

Are toasts mandatory? I know this sounds awful but I'm not sure I trust what will come out. Can I just not have any toasts said at the RH?

I think its nice to have a toast for everyone to raise there glass to the bride and groom. Is it the best man your worried about? Maybe have fh talk to him and tell him to keep it 'short and sweet'. Or maybe have one of the dad's do it, and tell the best man that its tradition in your family to have a dad do it. HTH!

I hate speaking in front of crowds so when I was a MOH I didn't do a speech. no one ever mentioned it. It's up to you. I would say just do something short and sweet, that's what I'm going to do. Just say thanks for coming, we love you, we love each other, and have a great time. that's pretty much what I'm going to say.
