today, I found 'the one'...... (story time inside)
see album for pic!
First we went to Bridal Suite of Bay Shore and I worked with Mary Ellen. She was very, very nice. We tried about 4 gowns before I got to the Casablanca in my album. As soon as it went on, I knew it was special. My two friends could say nothing bad about it. I had wanted dreamy, which this was (silk organza) but the bottom really was more plain than I had envisioned.
Mary Ellen added the most gorgeous veil I have ever seen, and a satin headband with bling, and OMG the look came together! Loved it.
My previous dress hunt landed me with a favorite from David's Bridal, which of course was still fresh in my mind. So we immediately went back to David's so that my 2 friends could compare the gowns since they were not present when I went in July.
Fast fwd - At David's, they had no record of the gown I loved in the computer system. She must have 'forgotten' to add it in. The woman at the desk even said 'maybe she got busy' and my friend Kelly goes 'it was a month ago!' LOLOL Busy? Yeah, 30 days is forgetful and incompetent... NOT busy.
Anyway, I try the gown on and am still in love with it (and the price).... and another consultant comes by and says 'I think that is discontinued now.' UM WHAT? SO they look and yes, it's been discontinued.
I kind of feel fate stepped in since even my friends were concerned that both gowns were totally 'me' and they were torn on which to tell me was their fave. I am still kinda pissed though... I mean, it was less than 1 month ago and NOW it's gone?!!?! And had they put me in the system w the correct info, maybe they could've followed up and told me it was going to be discontinued! Poor customer service, but that's what you get for the money I guess.
We continued on to Village Bridal (I had called and postponed the appt since we randomly went to David's in between. Tried on a few more gowns, and NOTHING worked for me. Not one.
Off to the Wedding Center of Commack just for shts and giggles, and I did find a gorgeous Allure gown however it really did not hold a candle to the Casablanca.
So, in a few weeks I will head back to Bridal Suite of Bay Shore and get measured for my gown! So exciting, and what a relief!!![]()
