Talk to your ob/gyn for your best options. It's funny, I had my annual appt this month and my wedding's not till July. She knew me well enough to know that I'd already done the math and we figured out a plan. I'm on the pill and that really makes it easier to regulate.

I would also say to call your ob/gyn. I have an appt soon to discuss that exact issue!

i was at the end of my period on my wedding day...i am so regular every month - to the day...but in oct i was a week late, probably threw my cycle off from stress....which might happen to you too, so you might just pass right through your wedding day without getting it!

just edited to say that normally, if you got it today, next month you should get it a few days earlier (28 days) so that you'll be at the end of it by your wedding day...

Tell me about it, I went off the pill so that we could try to conceive right away, and I thought I'd done it so that I'd get my period mid-month, but my body's not cooperating! ***T!

Just becareful if you are taking the pill... b/c I heard you can skip the placebo pills/go right onto a fresh pack, and not get your period that month. So I tried that (after asking my pharmacist, who said it was ok) and it was a nightmare. It totally screwed up my system I had bleeding for the whole honeymoon
I had to start all over with the pill again too, a nightmare.

I started the patch (birth control kind, not smoking) 4 weeks before my wedding because I was also worried about this same problem. It has not been a super easy adjustment for me and once this month is over I am coming off of it. I just don't feel right. So talk to your doctor asap.

michele,

were you on the pill before and switched to the patch, or did you start the patch as a new form of BC?

I've seen advertising for the patch and was curious how it stayed on.

Just curious if your problems are from the patch itself or the medication.

You can PM me if you don't want to discuss!!

definitely call your ob/gyn. I spoke to mine and we figured out a plan to reschedule my period. Hopefully it worked since my wedding is two weeks away and I should get it during next week. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

going back on is definitely not an option ..... Also, my last period was only 21 days ago, so I don't know what to think. I figured stress would take over & maybe not get it for awhile, but I don't know how much more stress I could possibly be under?!

If you are on the pill you can DEFINATELY alter it. I did it when I went to Aruba. I took the pill for 2 weeks (first part of pack) and then stopped which made me get my period (i think thats how it worked) Ask your Gyno to be sure

Mrs2Be- I started using the patch 2 months ago after being on the pill for many years and i love it! The only time it kinda came off was after I was in the bath for about 2 hours and it was the day i had to switch it anyway.

Also with the pill I would take it so I wouldn't get my period on the weekends but it never worked for me ( it would ALWAYS come on thurs night and end sunday morning) no matter what i did. With the patch so far I get my period on monday and it's gone by friday ( okay so it lasts a little longer).

The whole skip your period by continuing to take the pill never worked for me either. It just delayed it for a week. So for me I think the patch is better. I think they have some ring thing too now, but it wasn't for me.

Christine,

I was scared of the same thing. I happened to get my period early this month and I was thinking of starting the pill just to throw off my cycle. But I heard you may have some break through bleeding so I'm not sure. I think you should call you ob/gyn to be sure what you can do b/c each person is different.

Re: Today is one month from my wedding and I just got . . .

I am getting married this Saturday!!! and I have been taking the pill for 3 monthes to rescheduale my period, becuase it would have came right on my wedding day. It was not an easy adjustment to 'mess up your scheduale' becuase there was definitley some spoting. But talk to your ob/gyn, becuase if you can figure out a way to delay it, you will be ok! even after taking it for 3 monthes now, I am still scared that the timing wont work out becuase of stress!
Good Luck
