today is one of those days- with update

I am not very happy with my friends, BMs, today. Some of you might remember that I was upset that all of my BM had agreed to pay $150 for my shower and my sister was going to pay the difference. Then one of my BM told her she could only contribute $50. Now that they have put money down at the restaurant and budgeted their money, 2 more of my BM told my sister today that they can only put in $100 each. What the @#$% is going on here?! They shouldn't have agreed to any amount that they had no intentions of contributing. Now my sister is short money.
So my sister calls them all today to set up a meeting to finalize the shower plans and the 3 girls who are putting in less money said they can come at 7, but they have to leave by 7:30 because they have dinner reservations. How is it that they can afford to go out to dinner but not pay for my shower?!
I'm actually going to go to their meeting tonight since I've found out all about my shower and tell them that I'm really disappointed at their level of involvement in everything. Yes, I'm upset about the money when they've got plenty to spend on themselves, but I'm more upset that they didn't really help my sister and my FSIL plan the shower and they don't even call me to see if I can use any help. They're being very selfish and I don't appreciate it. If they keep this up, I don't think I can continue my friendship with them.
Whew! I needed to get that out of my system! Thanks for listening.

Re: today is one of those days

Here's what happened last night. I went to the BM meeting at my sister's house and we discussed the shower. I let them know that since they were short money that I was going to have to put in the difference for them. Of course they tried to say no and I asked them where they thought the missing $200 was supposed to come from. Were my parents, who are paying for the wedding and threw us an e-party, supposed to pay? Was my sister, who is a single motther, supposed to put in more money? They had nothing to say. I basically told them that I was really hurt that they hadn't budgeted for any of this and they've known about all of these upcoming things for a year. I reminded them of how many times I've said I couldn't go out because I didn't have money. I let them know that it's not that I don't have money in the bank, but I'm saving that money for upcoming expenses. They apoligized, but an apology doesn't really make up for it.
They asked me to leave while they discussed my bachelorette trip to Newport. My sister and my FSIL told me later that the girls were going to aks everyone for $150 a person for the b-party. That's all fine and well, but how do they feel comfortable asking for money money than they've contributed to my shower?! When my sister asked what that money was going towards, they said it was for the stripper ($300) that I don't even want, and for beer/liquor and food for the house. Um, there are a minimum of 12 girls going which adds up to $1800. You're telling me that they're going to spend $1500 on food for the weekend? The only way I can figure it is that they're going to ask everyone for money, but they're not planning on putting in their share.
I'm so upset right now. I feel like they're being sneaky and I would have never expected this from them. I don't know if I'm going to be able to continue a friendship with these girls anymore.

Seriously, you need to get out of this. Tell your sister that she must stop telling you everything. She either needs to handle it herself or hand off the responsibility to someone else. This all sounds very childish. You are way too involved in whats going on.
