I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it. I just finished assembling all my invitations last night and Sunday Funday will apply the wax seal and place in envelope to be mailed on Oct. 1. Can not believe how fast the time is flying by.

I wanted to do the wax seal but he won that battle :) I'm right behind you to send them out around the 18th but I want them all done so all I will have to do is go to the post ofice and ask very nicely for them to hand cancel (are you doing this?) and then wait for the rsvp fun to begin.
It's so freaking exciting !!!!

So when you bring them to the post office they do one of two things before sending them out... they are either run through a machine OR someone hand stamps each envelope indivdually.
My uncle is the Post Master on LI and he said it looks way nicer for wedding invites and it's a service that you just have to ask about. NO post office should deny doing this for you.

I never knew that. I actually went to the post office with one invitation and had it weighed and purchased wedding stamps with the appropriate postage (So I will be the one stamping each envelope individually) With that being said what do I do from there? Lol

Wedding stamps are still the same. Put whatever postage they told you. BUT instead of dropping them in a blue box, go at a time when they aren't particularly busy and bring them up to the counter and tell them you would like to have them hand cancelled instead of put through their machine. Ask nicely and as long as you don't get someone having a bad day you shouhldn't have any problems. In the event they do give you a problem or say they can't do that, tell them that you were told by the Post Master General (and I'll give you my uncle's name if you want to use it) that they can absouletly do that and if need be you will just speak to him and he will have it done at his post office. That should frighten them enough. What Post Office do you typically use?
And did this make sense?

Wow! Who would have ever thunk it. Lol I am going to use the big post office in the city on 34th and 8th. They should be nice there (I am hoping with my fingers and toes crossed) Lol I don't think I would have to use your uncle's name. Wow! You have an uncle who is the Post Master General. Not too shabby ;)

I would imagine you would be fine in the city. And i know how cool, he's on the the channel 12 news every year during Christmas time and tax season being interviewed about how those are the two craziest times at the Post Office... I'm a proud niece/god-daughter :)
Good luck and keep me posted with how it goes
