maybe i'm just a loyal supporter...my mom used to watch her specials from the beginning...but I really think her involvement in this was minimal...
I think if you got a piece of inside info from the guy you are/were sleeping with...it would be very hard for any of us to not sell...and if the broker was involved too? It will be interesting to see how things come out...
I heard that she resigned yesterday...does that mean no more shows?

She just resigned as CEO and President, I'm sure they will still do her shows and products

I wonder if there are any 'good things' in jail. Like she can teach us how to make a nice sit down meal for 500

Re: Today on Martha Stewart ...
i like martha stewart as the 'how-to' guru. but as a business woman
the day her company went public she became a BILLIONAIRE!!! whatever possessed her to risk all that for 4,000 shares is beyond me. she was a stock broker in the 70's - she knows all the rules!!!!

Stacey, that is what I was thinking. I still think they are being extremly harsh with her, b/c many of men have run companies in to the ground and nothing came of it..ie Enron, and many other large companies, but she sells her shares and she is paying for the crimes of all. I think its not fair.

Re: Today on Martha Stewart ...
I actually think she did have a standing order with her broker to sell when it got to be a certain price but is she had information form her friend , then she should have held on to the stock no matter what. I think she should have known better, considering that she was a broker herself years ago. She cant claim that she didn't know the laws.
Whats the saddest part of this, is that she is worth millions (or was) and now she is about to lose (almost) everything over a mear $229,000. To be frugal is one thing...but that was just plain dumb.
I sort of feel sorry for her...it was a bad call on her part but she got greedy and now she is going to pay.

Re: Today on Martha Stewart ...
Shamma is right. There is a lot of insider trading that goes on every single day and very few court cases over it. Enron is the real problem, not 4.000 shares of some medical stock that she in no way even controlled the price of. plus if I heard a CEO was dumping stock quick, I would do exactly the same thing. Who wouldn't?
