Today was a he!! of a day... (warning this is a vent... sorry)

I was all ready for my first day of school. I left FH's at ten to 6. I was in lots of traffic and accidentally bumped someone's car. I was hysterical crying and the guy felt so bad (even though it was my fault) that he wanted to wait with me until I calmed down. So, after that, traffic was 50 times worse and I got to work 10 minutes late. Then I got 5 new admits to my class, who had no seats and had to sit on the floor all day. After school 2 kids weren't picked up and I had to wait with them for an hour until I reached their parents. Then I just had a root canal. I'm ready for bed!!!!

On a good note, I arrived home to my veil which was just delivered. I'll post pics later.

I apologize for my long and drawn out vent.

well not too bad.

there was so much confusion today with our kids having lunch this year in the rooms, so we only got half a lunch since we got stuck watching the kids

then we got 2 new admits in our CTT room who only speak spanish, we are trying to find out what to do with them, because if they are NOT special ed they cant be in our room. but one might be - and then they need to get us a para - who knows. all i know is that i some how took the little bit of spanish i know and had a converstaion with him and stopped him from crying so that was

OMG that is crazy!!! That stinks about your drive in, but what goes on with staying after school??!! That is nuts!! If you aren't getting payed for that, you shouldn't have to do it! We have a teacher in our school who gets payed to do bus duty for all the kids who don't get picked up or are brought back by the bus driver because they weren't picked up at the stop (they are 4-7 years old). so if my kids are brought back, she gets payed to call their parents and wait, while the rest of us go home. That was great of you to stay though. but then, a root canal on top of all of that stress??!! you don't just need to sleep, you need a happy hour

Wow, that really IS a BAD day. It's nice at least that you arrived home to your veil, which hopefully cheered you up a bit! Hope you have a better day tomorrow!

I think because it throws the ratio off.

well, it is supposed to be 60/40 but if the other classes are full, theres not much they can do

they cant be in a CTT room if they are ESL only. If they are ESL and special ed then yes they can be

im not sure of the exact reasoning but im pretty sure that it puts the class at a disadvantage having special ed, reg ed and esl - its just too much for 1 room

and we can only have max 25 kids

they cant be in a CTT room if they are ESL only. If they are ESL and special ed then yes they can be

i have NEVER heard that before but come to think of it but i have 2 bilingual special ed in my grade 2 CTT and since there are no bilingual programs in the area they have a para

yeah if they have are special ed they can be in it and i think they have to have a para.
