So I met with Tommy at Tommy Tunes the other day. I must admit I have never seen them do any event before but my FH says they're 'the best'. But Tommy rubbed be the wrong way, and the thought that he is the backup for any of his staff kinda worried me. Anyone else feel this way or did I catch him on a bad day?

I would normally say go with your gut. BUT I met with Tommy twice, and I thought he was super nice both times. Maybe he was having a bad day?

Re: Tommy Tunes
I booked him for my wedding and I liked him so much that I booked him for my e-party. Every time we are there he talks to us for like an hour and is always very personable.

Re: Tommy Tunes
What was said that rubbed you the wrong way?
Most DJ companies don't even have back up's from what I hear. I imagine the chances are really slim of your MC not making it to the wedding.

Re: Tommy Tunes
I saw them at Villas Bridal Showcase in January and I thought they were a bit to much for me. They seemed to want the focus to be on them and not the bride and someone said it in the audience.....
Anyway I do hear great things about them though. they are very popular and do a good job. i have been to a few weddings with them as the vendor. They stay on top new trends that come out also.
My opinion...if he rubbed you the wrong way and your FH noticed but really wants them...go back and talk to them or maybe the guy was having a bad day. Or maybe be honest and say you felt uncomfortable with the last meeting...if they are apologetic and willing to make you feel better it may be worth it...if they retailiate then you know they arent for you.

Re: Tommy Tunes
He just seemed kind of cocky I guess. We asked what makes him better than any other company and he said 'nothing'. I 'm not from around here originally, so I don't have the background and word of mouth I guess most of you have, so it was a big turn off. You're right though, having a back up must be a benefit and I hear enough good things I can look past it and write it off to a bad day. I'll just have to decide if he fits into our every expanding budget....
